Brief History of this Revolutionary Contrivance |

 With the invention of abrasive waterjet machining, for the first time, waterjets were able to cut hard materials to precise tolerances. For more than 20 years, waterjets had proven their wide-ranging capabilities. However there had been one hurdle that waterjets could not seem to overcome- the faster the cut stream, the more the waterjet lagged and the more surface defects in the material being cut became apparent. As it travels from top to bottom, the waterjet streams in a conical or V-shaped motion. In corners of parts, stream lag had traditionally caused significant damage to part geometry. Dynamic waterjet cutting technology has solved these taper and tolerance challenges, and now parts are cut faster and with amazing quality. At the heart of the dynamic waterjet process are complex mathematical models and a matching software that aids in design implementation. |
